Meet the Founder and Owner of Whole Life Healing Center, Mia Hann
Tell us how you got into entrepreneurship.
I started my journey of entrepreneurship while I was in Promise Place Domestic Violence Shelter. I went in as a regional HR Director however once I went into the shelter I found my true purpose and Have been walking in that calling since.
What’s one of the greatest accomplishments you have achieved in your business and what was key to seeing this success?
Receiving the 501-C3 status was a major accomplishment because although the shelter gave me some of the funding to get started I had to pay for and go through this process myself. I was denied 2 times before I was finally approved, I had to trust the process and stay dedicated to my purpose which is to help survivors transitioning out of shelters, feed the hungry, bless the homeless, and show love and kindness to ALL.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
I see Whole Life Healing Center as a billion-dollar nonprofit assisting survivor from all sorts in every City, State, and across this NATION.
What do you love most about being a CEO Chick?
I have been a CEO Chick for less than 24 hours and I can honestly say that in just that short span of time I feel like I am supported by a strong sisterhood. I have received emails and messages from my new sisters, they have liked and shared my upcoming events and I couldn't be more excited and honored to be a CEO Chick!
Who inspires you?
I am inspired by my protector, provider, and comforter; My father God. My 5 children, My mother's siblings, and My Apostle Benard Franklin; Last but not least I am inspired by the survivors we assist. Their courage, beauty, and strength are inspirational and it encourages me to continue to push through another day to continue to provide services and resources for them.
What is your favorite book/podcast you recommend to our CEO Chicks?
Troubled Waters is currently my favorite book. I started writing this book a little over a year ago while I was in the shelter and I recently completed and published it. It is intriguing yet encouraging. I share some of my journey and how I overcame many statistics and found my purpose. Order your copy on our website www.wholelifehealingcenter.org
What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Don't Give Up! We all started somewhere and it's okay to crawl before you walk but if you crawl continue to strive to walk! Believe in yourself; don't wait for others to believe in you because you might be waiting longer than you expected. Sow seeds of love and kindness everywhere you go and watch for your plentiful harvest.
What does this opportunity mean to you?
This opportunity is a blessing! It's confirmation of so many prayers I have been praying. I needed a strong support system and a larger network of people to grow with. I needed a platform to help me share what we are doing with the world. Whole Life Healing Center is on a mission to spread Love through the services, resources and programs we offer and I thank you for helping us on this journey by supporting us and featuring us because we are literally funding everything on a Waffle House salary so I am praying we will get more donors, volunteers and grant writers to help us.
