Meet the Founder of BHG Mortgage Lending LLC, Anne King
Tell us how you got into entrepreneurship.
I started entrepreneurship back in 1998. I started with a real estate investor and we would refer out our buyers. Well, I recognized the need and thought, "Hey I can do this". Then I proceeded to teach myself the mortgage business. And in the past 24 years, I have mastered the task.
What’s one of the greatest accomplishments you have achieved in your business and what was key to seeing this success?
I can't say that I had any one specific accomplishment. Every transaction is special to me because God trusted that person to seek me out to assist them to get financing. So I treat each new loan as a new opportunity to bring an achievement or accomplishment to someone else's life. My purpose in life was revealed when I realized that my role in this is not to help myself, but to help others and I just happen to get the added benefit of being compensated for it.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
Hopefully retired on some beach below the equator, but with my business still running without me.
What do you love most about being a CEO Chick?
I love the camaraderie. I love the "Godly" influence. I love the fact that God is at the forefront of your business.
Who inspires you?
Hmmm, that's a good one, I am a different type. I don't seek inspiration from any one person. I enjoy being me and bettering myself. I do not believe in striving to be like anyone else, because we never know what people actually go through in life and people show their best selves. So, the mental picture of the better me that I am working for is my inspiration.
What is your favorite book/podcast you recommend to our CEO Chicks?
Unfortunately, I don't have much time for books or podcasts. Even though I love reading!
What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Figure out your why, then stop wishing for it, and work for it. You can do ANYTHING you dream by the Grace of God. Make a plan then just execute. And most importantly, stop asking everyone for their opinion. If God gave you the vision, He will give you the provision. Believe in you and the God in you.
