Meet Author Lisa Guice, read how her mother’s battle with cancer pushed her to complete her first book.
Tell us how you got into entrepreneurship?
My journey into entrepreneurship started with the bullying of my daughter. After seeing her so affected by it, I was driven to become a support system for other girls. This ultimately led to my teaching and training of their mothers. Once I witnessed and cultivated the thread between mothers and daughters, I began to focus on the power of helping women bring their dreams to life. To be examples to their daughters of what "Living your Greatness Out Loud" truly looked like. I didn't initially see this incident morphing into my owning two companies but that is exactly what happened and I am grateful for the opportunity to turn turmoil into triumph.
What’s one of the greatest accomplishments you have achieved in your business?
One of the greatest accomplishments I have achieved in my business was writing my book "You're Just A Quote Away From Your Greatness". I wrote this while sitting by my mothers side as she received her chemotherapy treatments. That difficult time forced me to dig deep beyond what I knew I was capable of and push past her cancer and into my blessing of becoming a published author.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
In the next 3-5 years I see myself successfully running a multi-million dollar company. That will change lives and create legacies all God's way, driven by 7 income streams.
What do you love most about being a CEO Chick?
What I like most about being a CEO Chick is the true business boss behind each of the women. The tangibility that each member possess and shares among the group is undeniable. In addition, Coleen the Founder of CEO Chicks is a breath of fresh air. From day one she has welcomed and helped me next-level my business.
Who inspires you?
Most of my inspiration comes from my relationship with God and the call he has on my life. However, I also find inspiration in other women bosses and those bold enough to walk in their dominion and "Live Their Greatness Out Loud " ™️.
What is your favorite book/podcast you recommend to our CEO Chicks?
My favorite book is "Take Hold of Your Dreams" by Jentezen Franklin. For podcasts I would recommend the podcasts Strategy Hour, The Creative Impostor, and Goal Digger!
What advice would you give other aspiring entrepreneurs?
The advice I would give to other aspiring entrepreneurs is "The moment you are given a dream you have received your letter of recommendation to go out and fulfill it. So, accept that you are already equipped and ordained to run with it!”
